Hi, I'm Steph!
I'm kind of like your great-grandma, just a few decades younger and learning the old ways one mess at a time.
My journey really started around 2010. I was a brand-new homeowner, living with my soon-to-be fiancé, fresh out of university, and had just landed a stable government job. On paper, things looked good.
But beneath it, I’d been dealing with chronic acne since elementary school — the kind that led to years of specialists, endless prescriptions, and eventually, a “treatment” that caused me to lose part of my body. Yes, literally. One of the drugs I was prescribed was a failed chemotherapy drug, pushed for teenage acne without warning, without informed consent, and with devastating results. The pharmaceutical company made billions off its off-label use. And I wasn’t the only one hurt by it.
That was my wake-up call. I realized no one was coming to save me, and if I wanted real answers — real health — I’d have to find them myself.
So, I started digging. What was in our food? Our products? Our homes? I fell headfirst down the rabbit hole… and didn’t have to go far to see that things were seriously off.
It lit a fire in me
I felt a deep pull to learn the skills our great-grandparents lived by. But let me tell you, it wasn’t pretty. For over a decade, I failed hard. I couldn’t grow enough for a salad. I still burn water. And yet, I kept going.
Then 2020 hit.
I was pregnant, and suddenly felt this deep, primal urgency to get my sh*t together — to create some kind of stability for my family. The world was spinning, and I was done relying on systems that clearly didn’t care about us.
That year, everything clicked. I took all the education, the skills, and yes, the epic failures I had gathered over the last decade — and figured out what I had been missing.
By 2021, I grew enough food to feed my family for a year… with barely any land.
In 2022, everything changed again. I left my marriage. My job went away and I became a single mama to two littles. I spent less than $2,000 on groceries that year. And I launched a business helping other women do exactly what I did — reclaim their power, their peace, and their sense of safety.
Now? I teach thousands of women how to build self-reliance from scratch
I do this through my signature program, The Basics. It's everything I wish I had when I started — no fluff, no fearmongering, just real skills and a community that gets it.
Mama, if you're feeling unsafe, unsure, or unprepared — I get it. I’ve been where you are. And I want you to know: you can create calm in the chaos. You can provide for your family in ways that feel deeply secure and wildly empowering.
You no longer have to outsource your peace to people who profit off your exhaustion.
I’m here to show you how.
